"I love the Dovetail cafe. It is my go-to lunch place. George’s red pepper soup is epic and the cakes are incredibly delicious. George’s team are delightful. Flo, Louisa, Iona, Emily and Ellie are the personification of service with a smile. The cafe has a fantastic atmosphere. It’s comfortable and friendly with a lovely arty laid back vibe. All this, with the most fascinating bric a brac shopping! Thanks George and team. I’ll be back soon."

"My partner and I recently visited The Dovetail Café, tucked away inside The Antique Village in Hele, Devon, and it was a real gem of a find! We each treated ourselves to a slice of cake, which was absolutely delicious. I had a rich, comforting hot chocolate that was the perfect pick-me-up, while my partner really enjoyed a smooth and perfectly prepared Flat White. The atmosphere of the café is warm and welcoming, fitting beautifully with the charm of the Antique Village setting. A special mention must go to George, a member of staff, who was extremely friendly and made us feel right at home. His genuine hospitality really added to the experience. If you’re exploring Hele or browsing the antiques, I highly recommend stopping by The Dovetail Café – it’s the perfect spot for a coffee, cake, and a touch of kindness."

"George runs a very friendly coffee shop in the heart of The Antiques Village. Lovely coffee and amazing homemade panini’s. George’s legendary roast pepper and tomato soup made daily is a must try. The girls supporting George today (Iona, Flo, Louisa & Maddie) worked really well together and most importantly smiling and chatting with customers. Clients and dogs were chilled, the environment welcoming with antique features and a lovely warm wood burner keeping us warm. Thank you George… we will definitely be back! "We love this cafe. The atmosphere is great, it's comfortable with a range of seating and is very dog friendly (there's even a dog bed). The staff are brilliant and so welcoming - thank you to George, Lily and Katie for always giving us such a great experience. It's our dog's favourite place to visit and we can't drive past without him pestering to visit! There's a great selection of cakes including really good vegan cake. There's lovely soup and paninis too (including plant based sausage paninis). A great place to meet friends - and parking is easy. We'll definitely keep coming back!"

"Brilliant cafe! Great coffee and fantastic service, with possibly the greatest carrot cake in the world! George and the team work hard to create a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the service is excellent. Lovely vibe in the cafe, with open fire and comfy sofa alongside tables and chairs for those who are keen not to spill their soup (which is great too by the way!)."
